Start the game, choose MULTIPLAYER, select your profile and click ACCEPT.

1) You will get to a menu screen (Screen1) from which you will be able to create a game
(if you are the host) by pressing the CREATE button and you will be sent to a menu to choose which mission to play (Screen2) or,
if you want to join an existing game, simply select it from the list, if you see nothing try to press the REFRESH button, in case the game got hosted after you arrived.

In both cases (either you being a host or a client) after choosing,
you will be sent to the ingame lobby (Screen3) from where you can choose your Commandos,
chat and select the difficulty level. When all players have chosen one or more Commandos,
the host (and only he) can start the game by pressing START or can load a previously saved game by pressing the QUICKLOAD button (CTRL+S to quicksave during a game, CTRL+L to quickload)

Playing Commandos 2 by IP through the internet
To start a game through the internet without using Gamespy Arcade is not only possible but it is easy too. The steps to take are the following:

1) Start the game, choose MULTIPLAYER and select your profile and click ACCEPT.

If you are the Host: Select "TCP/IP (INTERNET)" (Screen4) You will see a new line appear, saying SERVER ADDRESS.
In there you must type YOUR OWN IP ADDRESS (to find out what your IP Address is, go here).
Then you will get to the Sessions screen (Screen1) in which you will have to press the Create button and choose an available mission from the list (Screen2).

If you are a Client: Select TCP/IP (INTERNET) (Screen4) You will see a new line appear, saying SERVER ADDRESS.
In there you must type the IP ADDRESS of the host (the Host can check his own IP Address right here).
You will be then taken to the Sessions menu in which you will be able to join an existing game or create one of your own (Screen1).
Note: If you don't see any available mission, try to press on the refresh button.
Now, if you selected Create, you will be taken to the missions screen (Screen2) from which you will be able to start a new mission which will appear in the sessions screen for the other players that will be able join it.
